Lectenz Bio Online Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the web site of Lectenz Bio which is defined as www.lectenz.com, a site that is owned and operated by Lectenz Bio, a corporation based solely in the United States. In addition, this privacy policy describes how we collect and use the personal information that you provide to us on our web site, including the personal information that you provide to us by email or telephone (collectively referred to as “Web Site,” “Lectenz,” “We,” “Us” or “Our”).

Date of Last Update: September 19, 2022

Please read carefully the following Privacy Policy before creating an online User Account with us or before purchasing any products from our Web Site. Please note that this Policy only addresses our privacy practice concerning information collected from our Web Site and does not apply to information that may have been collected about you by others. This Policy also does not cover the privacy or information practices of those web sites that may be linked to or referenced by our Web Site or the privacy or information practices of our partners that receive the personal information that is collected from our Web Site and shared with them.

By using the Web Site, you signify your acceptance of this Policy. If you do not agree to this Policy, please do not use our Web Site. Your continued use of the Web Site following the notification on our Web Site of any changes made to the Policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.

Changes in this Privacy Policy Statement

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy statement at any time, so please review it frequently. If we make material changes to this Policy, we will provide a notification on our Web Site prior to the change becoming effective and update the date of the Policy referenced above. You agree and acknowledge that it is your responsibility to review the Policy periodically and become aware of any modifications made to it.

What personally identifiable information do we collect from you?

If you are going to create an online User Account with us or purchase products from our Web Site, we will likely request that you provide us with the following personally identifiable information: your name, your billing and shipping address, your credit card number (including expiration date and cvv code), email address, phone number, IP address and purchase order number (if purchases of product are not made using a credit card). If you create an online User Account on our Web Site, we will also collect your self-selected username and password. If you choose not to create an online User Account but instead wish to purchase products as a “Guest User,” we will still at a minimum request your name, billing and shipping address and credit card information in order to ship product to you.

Wherever we collect personal information we make an effort to include a link or reference to this Privacy Policy on that page, including also prompting you to “accept” this Privacy Policy.

What are tracking technologies and how are they used?

Using WordPress servers and the WooCommerce extension, we use cookie and/or similar technologies to collect aggregate data about your browsing and shopping habits on our Web Site. If you create an online User Account, cookies enable auto-population of the username and password fields when the user returns to our Web Site in order to access their account and/or to purchase products from our Web Site.

As is true of most web sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information may include Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data. We do not link this automatically-collected data to other information we collect about you.

You can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level, but if you choose to disable cookies, it may limit your use of certain features or functions on our Web Site. Please note that in order to create a User Account (should you choose to do so), cookies must not be disabled.

How do we use your collected information?

Should you decide to “opt-in” and create an online User Account on our Web Site, your username, password and other personal information that you voluntarily submit to us for collection is stored and retained in our system even after we process your payment for products that are purchased and delivered to you. However, should you purchase products from the Web Site as a Guest User without creating an online User Account, any personal information that you voluntarily provide to us (such as your name, shipping and billing address) will also be stored on the WordPress server and maintained by us as a business record even after the information has been used to complete the purchase and delivery of products.

With respect to the aggregate data that we automatically gather using tracking technologies while on our Web Site, we may use this data in order to record browsing and shopping habits while on our Web Site, analyze trends, administer the Web Site, track users’ movements around the Web Site and gather demographic information about our user base as a whole.

All personal information that you submit to us is handled within the United States of America. While our Web Site enables users to purchase our products from many parts of the globe, we do not target any particular geographic region of consumers nor do we track or monitor the behavior of any of our individual customers after they leave our Web Site.

With whom do we share your information?

We will share your information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this Privacy Policy.

We will share your email address with our trustworthy partner Mailchimp should you choose to subscribe to our mailing list. This mailing list, should you decide to “opt-in,” is intended to send you updates and occasional promotional emails about us and our products. In addition, we use our trustworthy partner Stripe to collect and process your credit card information as part of our online payment process, so should you provide us with your credit card information, this information will be shared with Stripe in order to complete your requested purchase. Further, we use the customer relationship management tool known as Hubspot to store in a centralized database both your contact information and email communications. By integrating with Mailchimp, should you decide to “opt-in,” we may also add this stored contact information to our mailing list either before or automatically after you have placed an order with us.

If Lectenz Bio is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all of its assets, we will post a prominent notice on the Web Site informing you of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your personal information.

What kind of security precautions are in place to protect the loss, misuse, or alteration of your information including credit card information and how is your information stored, accessed and used by others?

Your User Account information (should you decide to create one) is password-protected. You may edit your User Account information by using your self-selected user name and password.

We recommend that you do not divulge your password to anyone. Also remember to sign out of your User Account and close your browser window when you have finished your session. This is to ensure that others cannot access your personal information and correspondence if you share a computer or other electronic device with someone else or are using a computer or other electronic device in a public place like a library or Internet “cafe.”

When you voluntarily provide us with your personal information, we offer the use of a secure server. The secure server software encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us, including your credit card information. We also restrict access to the secure server through the use of firewalls.

Working with our trustworthy independent web service provider for credit card payment processing (Stripe), Lectenz Bio allows users of our Web Site to purchase our products online using a credit card. The sharing of your credit card information is accomplished by using the Stripe payment gateway for high-security payment processing. WooCommerce plug-in technology securely processes your purchase orders. PLEASE NOTE, HOWEVER, THAT WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY OF THE POLICIES, PRACTICES, ERRORS, OMISSIONS OR ACTIONS OF OUR CREDIT CARD PAYMENT AND/OR PROCESS PROVIDERS, OUR PARTNERS, LICENSORS OR SUPPLIERS. Unless you give us your permission to do so, your credit card information is not stored by us but is immediately transmitted under encryption to our designated credit card processor and none of your personal information is stored on your computer or other electronic device that would allow someone to by-pass the login authentication procedures.

Should you decide to create an on-line User Account, the personal information that you voluntarily provide to us is securely stored in our WordPress server for as long as your account remains active. Your personal information is also backed up daily on the WordPress server.

Please note that whenever your personal information is handled as described above, regardless of where this occurs, steps are taken to ensure that your information is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy. When you submit your personal information to us, we encrypt the transmission of that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). We follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. Unfortunately, however, no data transmission over the Internet or electronic handling can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us online, including any information that you send or receive as an email over your own email domain account and you do so at your own risk. ALSO, WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE AND DO NOT ASSUME ANY LIABILITY FOR THE DISCLOSURE OF ANY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION DUE TO ERRORS IN TRANSMISSION OR UNAUTHORIZED OR ILLEGAL ACTS OF THIRD PARTIES.

Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California “consumer,” upon your request (see Section entitled “Additional information and how you can contact us regarding this Policy”), we will disclose to you what personal information of yours was shared with what trustworthy third party provider within the last year (including disclosing to you our provider’s name and address) and if such information was ever used by our provider for their marketing purposes. Note that our current trustworthy third party providers have agreed not to use your information for this purpose, however.

California Civil Code section 1798.83 entitles residents of California to request information about the third parties with whom we shared personal information in the immediately preceding calendar year and if those third parties ever used such information for direct marketing purposes. California residents may submit one request per calendar year in the form of a report that details: (a) what type of information we shared, (b) with whom we shared such information and (c) the nature of the third party business.

California residents may submit their request by scrolling to the Section entitled “Additional information and how you can contact us regarding this Policy.”

What steps do we take to safeguard against, respond to and/or mitigate a wrongdoing involving the Web Site or breaches of personal information?

Upon receiving credible information about a possible wrongdoing involving our Web Site we will do what we reasonably can to investigate the merits of the claim by gathering up any other information within our reasonable control in order to evaluate whether there has been a possible attempt to commit a possible wrongdoing. If we believe there are grounds for believing in good faith that an attempt at wrongdoing was made, we reserve the right to cancel or close an offending or possible tainted transaction or account, monitor a particular account or line of communication, change applicable security codes, notify law enforcement officials, notify the victim of the alleged attempted wrongdoing, provide law enforcement certain information (including the personal identifying information) if reasonably requested or justified and/or do such other acts reasonable and/or necessary to protect the Web Site, our business, our customers, our suppliers and otherwise comply with any data breach notification or other laws applicable to the particular circumstance. We also reserve the right not to take any action if no such action is warranted. Finally, we reserve the right to rely upon our trustworthy independent web service providers to help implement, safeguard against and/or mitigate continued or future possible wrongdoing involving any user, customer, or supplier when the alleged wrongdoing involves or is related to our Web Site or the products that we provide.
